Dypsis lutescens Golden Cane Palm Dypsis lutescens commonly known as Golden Cane Palm or Areca Palm originates from Madagascar home of so many wonderful trees and shrubs. These palms make wonderful house plants if given basic requirements such as bright indirect sunlight, rich soil and an abundance of watering and feeding during the growing season. As with all indoor palms the pots should be rotated regularly to prevent the palm from stretching for the light and to maintain an even shape. These palms do not like very cold conditions and should be protected from such. Never place near central heating and try to mist regularly to maintain humidity.
