Phyllostachys Aurea - Golden Bamboo From China, this is a popular and fast growing bamboo for the garden. Non-invasive and reliable, the canes are yellow in the sun and green in the shade with quite visible piled and compressed nodes at the base. Good for hedge or as a specimen or container plant. Water and feed freely for best growth. Grows to 4-6m, and is clump forming. This bamboo is more wind tolerant than black bamboo and is perfect for masking ugly views and fences. Use it as a backdrop for other exotics. If you want to restrict its growth from creeping forward into the bed use bamboo root restrictor.
