A balcony terrace in a newly built apartment block in London, finished to minimum standards, an all too common practice, was an ideal blank canvas to create a modern contemporary low maintenance minimalist roof terrace design geared to relaxing and entertaining. Landscaping included Venetian cladding to rendered walls complimented by hardwood decking and bespoke contemporary plant pots. The plants chosen were architectural palm trees and contemporary buxus balls, whilst bamboo in troughs served to provide screening and privacy. Remote control mood lighting and garden irrigation completed the transformation into a modern low maintenance minimalist balcony design, and a natural visual extension of the apartment.
